Your dedication and hard work have truly paid off. Graduating marks a significant milestone and is just the beginning of many more proud and successful moments ahead.
To ensure your special day runs smoothly, please read and familiarise yourself with the important information below:
1. DATE, TIME, AND VENUE
The Annual Diploma and Certificate Ceremony will take place from 13 – 15 May 2025 at OASE Gemeente, Klerksdorp.
Please Note:
The graduation ceremony is divided into different sessions across multiple days, with each session designated for specific programmes.
It is your responsibility to ensure that you attend the correct session as indicated in your official invitation.
Late arrivals will not be permitted on stage under any circumstances.
All compliant candidates (Diploma, N6 Certificate, NC(V) graduates, Trade Test, and COS) must register 1.5 hours before the start of their scheduled session. Late arrivals or attendance on the incorrect day will result in disqualification from appearing on stage.
2. INVITATION
Eligible (compliant) candidates will receive an invitation via SMS, which will include a link to access the invitation.
All invited candidates must RSVP no later than Friday, 2 May 2025. Please note, if you do not RSVP, a seat will not be reserved for you.
• Each graduate may bring only two (2) guests.
• No children under the age of 18 will be allowed at the ceremony.
• Doors to the auditorium will close at 09:00 for the first session and 13:00 for the second session. Late arrivals will not be permitted to enter the venue.
3. COMPLIANCE CRITERIA FOR GRADUATION
3.1 Only one top achiever per individual programme will be acknowledged at the ceremony:
• One for NC(V)
• One for R191 Business Studies
• One for R191 Engineering Studies
3.2 To be considered a top achiever, a candidate must have obtained an average of at least 70% across all subjects during the time of study, with all subjects passed in a single examination session per level.
3.3 Candidates graduating from Artisan Training or COS must be declared “Competent.”
3.4 Any questions regarding compliance for Diploma graduation must be directed to the campus where you completed your studies.
4. OFFICIAL ACADEMIC REGALIA
Wearing academic regalia is compulsory for all graduates. Regalia must be rented or purchased at your own cost from Kenako Graduation Wear, at the fee specified.
Please ensure you bring the required payment with you to the ceremony in order to receive your regalia.
Price to hire graduation gown only: R750.00 (R500.00 is a REFUNDABLE deposit)
Price to hire graduation cap only: R250 (R100.00 is a REFUNDABLE deposit)
Price to hire shoulder band only: R350.00 (R200.00 is a REFUNDABLE deposit)
Price to hire a graduation gown, cap and shoulder band: R1 650.00 (R800.00 is a REFUNDABLE deposit)
Price to buy the graduation gown: R750.00
Price to buy the graduation cap: R250.00
Price to buy the graduation shoulder band: R350.00
Price to buy a graduation gown, cap and shoulder band: R1 650.00
Hired regalia must be handed back to Kenako Graduation Wear directly after the ceremony upon which the deposit will be refunded.
ACADEMIC REGALIA FOR N6 CERTIFICATES, NC(V) AND COS GRADUATES
Gown and sash (see pictures below)
Colour of sash:
NC(V) – blue
N6 Certificate – red
COS – white
The sash is only available at Kenako Graduation Wear as it is made especially for Vuselela TVET College. You will not be allowed to wear any other sash of a previous graduation.
ACADEMIC REGALIA FOR DIPLOMAS AND TRADE TEST CANDIDATES
Diploma graduates must wear a gown, sash and hood (see pictures below)
Colour of sash: Diploma – red, blue and white
TRADE TEST graduates will wear a gown and sash only.
5. OFFICIAL PHOTOGRAPHER
An official photographer will be appointed by Vuselela TVET College to capture moments on the day of the graduation ceremony. Graduates who wish to have professional photographs taken are encouraged to make arrangements prior to the ceremony or on the morning of the event.
The photography team will be available at the venue 1.5 hours before the start of each session.
Please note: The College is not responsible for making photographic arrangements on behalf of graduates.
6. ADDRESS OF VENUE
OASE Gemeente, 2 Margaretha Prinsloo Street, Klerksdorp
Kindly note: The College will not provide or arrange transportation. Graduates and their guests are responsible for making their own travel arrangements.
7. GENERAL INFORMATION
To ensure the day runs smoothly, please take note of the following important guidelines:
7.1 Graduates must arrive at the venue at least 1.5 hours before the start of their ceremony. This time is needed to:
• Hire/purchase academic regalia
• Arrange for photographs
• Collect your programme and seat number
7.2 On arrival, please proceed to collect your ceremony programme.
7.3 After collecting your programme, you may:
• Hire/purchase your academic attire
• Take photographs
• Enter the auditorium
7.4 Graduates and guests must be seated at least 20 minutes before the ceremony commences.
7.5 Personal cameras will not be allowed inside the venue, as an official photographer will be on-site.
7.6 Graduates who have previously completed qualifications at other institutions are not permitted to wear regalia from those institutions. You are now graduating from Vuselela TVET College and must wear the correct gown and belt specific to your current qualification.
7.7 The graduation ceremony is a formal academic occasion. All graduates and guests are expected to dress appropriately:
• Formal or traditional attire is acceptable. Make sure your attire is appropriate for a formal event at an educational institution.
• Ladies are kindly advised to wear appropriate footwear, as graduates will need to use stairs to enter and exit the stage.
7.8 No one will be permitted to exit the hall before the ceremony concludes.
7.9 Guest seating is not reserved, and late arrivals will not be admitted. Please ensure your guests are informed.
7.10 Guests must be seated at least 20 minutes before the ceremony starts and are required to remain in their seats for the entire duration. Guests may only leave the hall after the Academic Procession has exited and the congregation has been formally dissolved.
7.11 Due to the formal nature of the event, babies and toddlers will not be permitted inside the hall. Only children aged 18 and above will be allowed entry.
