ANNUAL GRADUATION CEREMONY 2025
The annual graduation ceremony of Vuselela TVET College was held from 13 to 15 May 2025 at Oase Gemeente in Klerksdorp. The event spanned three days, featuring two sessions daily—the first commencing at 09:00 and the second at 13:00. The ceremony celebrated the accomplishments of students who successfully completed their studies at Vuselela TVET College in 2024, including those awarded their National Diplomas during the same period.
We were honoured to welcome several distinguished guest speakers throughout the ceremony:
13 May: Mr Tshegofatso Namola, Education, Training, Development, and Quality Assurance Manager at ETDP SETA North West, delivered the keynote address. A native of Mokasa 1 village in Taung, Mr Namola began his career as a lecturer at Vuselela TVET College. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education degree at the Central University of Technology in Bloemfontein.
14 May: Mr Peter Ntsowe, Client Service and Projects Officer at the Construction Education and Training Authority (CETA), inspired graduates to be proactive in creating opportunities, embracing entrepreneurship, and driving positive change.
15 May (First Session): Mr Frikkie Fouché from AgriSETA spoke on skills development and education. With a background as Head of the Engineering Faculty at Vuselela TVET College and current Executive Manager for Skills Planning and Research at AgriSETA, Mr Fouché also serves on the College Council.
15 May (Final Session): Mrs Maryna Marais, Interim Chairperson of the Vuselela TVET College Council, shared insights from her 47-year career in education and training. Having served as Vice-Rector of Vuselela FET College and Principal of ORBIT TVET College, Mrs Marais emphasized that passion for one’s work is key to success, stating:
“One cannot be successful unless you love your work. Doing what you love is the cornerstone of abundance in life.”
A total of 1,251 students graduated over the three days, distributed as follows:
Top academic achievers were also recognised during the ceremony. These prestigious awards honour the best-performing students in each programme, based on consistent academic excellence across the full qualification—ranging from N4 to N6 or Level 2 to Level 4. To qualify, students must have passed all subjects in a single examination sitting with an average of 70% or higher.
Management Assistant N6 with an average of 78%, from Potchefstroom Campus.
Tourism N6 with an average of 78%, from Potchefstroom Campus.
Marketing Management N6 with an average of 76% from Klerksdorp Campus.
Marketing Level 4 with an average of 79% from Klerksdorp Campus.
Office Administration Level 4 with an average of 81% from Klerksdorp Campus.
The trophy for Best Academic Achiever in Electrical Engineering N6 was jointly awarded to T Mokgosi and T Rapiletsa, both from Jouberton Campus. Each achieved an outstanding average of 71%, reflecting their dedication and academic excellence.
Civil Engineering and Building Construction Level 4 with an average of 78% from Jouberton Campus.
Information Technology and Computer Science Level 4 with an average of 73% from Jouberton Campus.
Business Management N6 with an average of 79% from Klerksdorp Campus.
Electrical Infrastructure Construction Level 4 with an average of 80% from Potchefstroom Campus.
Mechanical Engineering N6 with an average of 71% from Jouberton Campus.
Human Resource Management N6 with an average of 80% from Klerksdorp Campus.
The trophy for Best Academic Achiever in NC(V) studies was jointly awarded to MM Mokoroane and PC Bareeleng. Mr Mokoroane, from Potchefstroom Campus, was recognised as the top performer in Finance, Economics and Accounting Level 4. Mr Bareeleng, from Klerksdorp Campus, achieved the highest results in Education and Development Level 4. Both recipients demonstrated exceptional academic performance, each attaining an impressive average of 82%.
KKR Ahitlhile, from Klerksdorp Campus, was recognised as the top achiever in Public Management N6 with an exceptional average of 90%. In addition, Ms Ahitlhile was honoured as the Best N6 Student in the Report 191 studies. Her academic record is remarkable, having passed all 12 subjects with distinctions, including achieving a perfect score of 100% in Public Administration N5, Public Finance N5, and Municipal Administration N6. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Ms Ahitlhile on this outstanding accomplishment.
